Arizona vacation--Day 1 & 2 (F & Sa)

Friday: we flew from Houston to Phoenix, with the highlight of the trip, of course, being Jacob throwing up all over himself and me, with no warning, 30 minutes before the end of the trip. They gave us a loaner shirt for Jacob and while my issue was only the sleeve...one of my favorite shirts could not recover and met it's untimely end. Sob. My brother got called out of town for work and had to cancel dinner with us, so Rick, awesome guy that he is, drove me through an hour of rush hour traffic to Scrapbooks, Etc in Mesa. Scrapbook therapy can definitely heal the "my favorite shirt is stained with goldfish cracker and Hershey bar puke" blues. They've converted about 1/3 of the store into a quilting shop, so it took some time to meander through to find all the scrapbooking goodies. And Rick, awesome guy that he is, spent that time circling the outside of the store in the rain with Jacob so I could shop in peace. Have I mentioned that he's awesome? After that, we checked into our hotel and ordered pizza.

Saturday: we met John and Dusty and the kids at a Chuck E Cheese near them. Jacob did the tour, and his favorite ID card maker was not among the choices, so we weren't sure he was even going to make it until they got there. Brandon found the jetski game and hopped on. Jacob followed suit, but it was less fun because we couldn't convince him that in order for the jetski to wiggle and jiggle, he had to hold the throttle in. Eventually, dad took pity on him and stood there and held the throttle for him.

 John and Jr:
 Ticket king:

Cousins doing battle, and talking Xbox
 Back to the jetski:
 taking a little walkabout:
 helping mom win the game:
Challenging aunt Heather to a game of ice hockey and getting distracted by Chuck over at the birthday party.
She was doing her absolute best to get Chuck to notice her.
Fear not. Auntie Heather has no problem going over and asking the manager to send him over to the non-party side when he was done.

She was so cute. Whenever she would get in this ride, she would automatically put her arm around the guy.
 Jacob's cheese face
Jacob no longer caring that mom wanted a picture. He had reached his limit. (so had Dad, who was outside taking a nap in the car).

After Chuck E Cheese, we headed north and the thought process went something like this:
"Cool, some snow."
"Little bit more here"
"Uh, we really didn't pack for this."
"Um, are we going to have to buy boots?"
"Oh well. We were talking about a snow vacation anyway"
"Pretty"
"I miss home"
"What do you mean you were just getting out to get something from the trunk?"
"Can't we stay?"
"Please?" Nope, sorry. When we dropped down out of Owl Creek Canyon into Sedona (yes we bypassed the northbound route and went north then south), it was warmer and no snow.
The condo was...not great. No laundry in the unit, no Wifi (!!!!!) except in the lobby, very small 1/2 kitchen and a weird layout with a lot of wasted space. Not our favorite. Jacob spent the entire vacation running my phone battery to nothing and then stealing the ipad while the phone charged. If we never hear Alan Jackson's Little Bitty or Who's Cheatin' Who again, it will be too soon.
