Project 365, Week 5

January 24 - a mom and me picnic at the park while Brandon and Rick are on their camping trip.
January 25 - The Tag Reader, Jacob's main Christmas present. You touch the wand to different parts of the page and it either reads, sounds out words, plays music...Jacob loves it. His favorite book is by far Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I'd like to say that he's reading it, but really, he has it memorized.
January 26 - Brandon getting ready to head off to his board review for First Class rank in Scouting. He was a little nervous, but he did great. One of the adults sent Rick an email, saying how impressed he is with Brandon's knot tying abilities, something rare in a scout of his age.
January 27 - Argh. I really am at that age. I absolutely hate the feeling of lotion on my skin, so slathering myself up with moisturizers and wrinkle creams is an adventure. Mostly, I'm just tired of looking tired all the time.
January 28 - The variegated ginger is dead, dead, dead. The only thing that seems to have survived the hard freeze earlier this month is the roses. Not looking forward to having to replant this entire flower bed, since it took forever to find something that actually grew and looked good.
January 29 - Brandon was home sick from school today with a sore throat and head congestion. He spent part of the day on septimusheap.com, the website for his current favorite book series.
January 30 - Mmmm....steaks. We don't care if it's 35 degrees out, we're gonna fire up the barbecue. The best part of steak for dinner? Rick cooks and cleans up the entire thing.
