Our itinerary had us flying into Seattle and then starting our cruise the next afternoon. Day 2 was at sea. Day 3 was Ketchikan, Day 4 was Juneau and Endicott Arm glacier area, Day 5 was Skagway. Day 6 was Prince Rupert, British Columbia and Day 7 was at sea, with us arriving back in Seattle at 7am on day 8.
There were 2 tv channels playing movies, espn, cnn, and cartoon network playing on the tvs. Now Brandon and I have to find a way to watch the rest of Total Drama Island (a pretty funny cartoon spoof of Survivor), since we don't have cable. Brandon did like playing with the giant chessboard and playing shuffleboard; Jacob even willingly gave shuffleboard a try. Brandon made an occasional friend playing shuffleboard or in the hot tubs by the pool. You had to be really patient to see any whales off the side of the ship--the guys saw a couple, I never saw any. Brandon really liked playing Hydro Thunder (a boat racing video game) and got pretty good at it. He had the top 5 scores on a certain track by the time we left the ship (he wanted me to make sure I put that part in). A lot of our meals we ate in the cafeteria type restaurant or at the poolside burger bar (so-so with pretty much the same food everyday, but quick), but we did eat a couple meals at one of the nicer restaurants, and paid extra to eat at the Italian restaurant one night (mmm...lobster ravioli...) We never could get into the tex-mex place. We spent a lot of time walking around the ship promenade on decks 7 and 12. Jacob got to ride the elevators a lot, which made him very happy. The would make a dinging noise when the arrived so now he points to elevators and says "Ding". He did really good with they bathroom and we actually went through less than a package of pull-ups, something we've never done on vacation before. It was chilly and rainy at the beginning of the week but beautiful for the last day (go figure). We did see an ice carving demonstration, Chinese acrobats and Rick won $130 or so in the casino.
