Brandon, in all his math nerd glory, loves to watch Cyberchase, a PBS show about math. So, when the Children's Museum of Houston set up a satellite location for the summer with Cyberchase as it's main focus, I knew we had to take him. We waited to coordinate schedules with his best friend Nick and picked a day when Jacob was in summer school so we wouldn't have to rush through it. Brandon loved it and didn't have much trouble with a lot of the math aspects. What seemed to engage the kids the most was an area with flat building type disks. They wanted to stay there forever before we herded them on. I had to laugh when he was playing a "race to 100" dice game with one of the docents and had to keep correcting the guy's math. There was also a Vietnam: Land of the Dragon exhibit, which they also found fun. Musical instruments, using chopsticks, riding a scooter, art rubbings--all were fun, but that's not what we had to drag them away from. No, that would be the market/boat area with plastic play food and fish. Again, a case of why do we pay money to entertain them? I think it was definitely worth the $5, though.
