One of Jacob's favorite Barney songs that he likes to sing (and demands to have sung to him) is the Rainbow song which goes a little something like this:
Oh, I like red, it's the color of an apple,
orange, it's the color of an orange,
yellow, it's a lemon and our wonderful sun, sun, sun.
Green, it's the color of trees and lots of things that grow
and blue for the sky,
and purple that's a color that's fun, fun, fun.
Put them all together and what do you think we've done?

And it's a really beautiful one.
He does a pretty good job singing all the words, and it's always fun to hear him just randomly break out in song, complete with hand motions. The rainbow song is also one of the few songs that will calm him down when he's agitated (like when four people are holding him down to check out his ear). I'm the only mother I know that has to apologize to perfect strangers for subjecting them to my singing. Anyway, Jacob was playing with the finger paint that he got in his last day of school bucket and completely on his own started singing the song as he put all the colors in the right order. And if the color strayed to far down onto the next line of math problems, he would take the wash cloth and gently fix it. It's little nuggets like this that make the 47 other messes that he made that day bearable.
