Monument Valley from a distance
Oh, so that's what that squiggle on the map is.
Unfortunately, there is no good way to show that it's pretty much straight up. All those ridge lines in the picture? That's the road. If you approach from this direction (northbound), you get an inkling of what's ahead of you. Coming from the other side? Absolutely no indication that you're going to have a descent from heck.
This formation is called Jacob's Chair and seemed like an excellent place to stop and let the kids out for awhile. We didn't get anywhere near the chair, as it was across a chasm and a valley.
And there was no way in heck I was getting any closer to the edge than this.
