4th of July Fun

Notice the earbuds. Bringing his mp3 player is the only way to get him through a parade. Well, that and a cooloer ful of popsicles.

Wave to Dad!

After the parade we head down to the park to watch the Apache helicopter land.
This year it was so hot and muggy that no one cared.
Jacob was quite interested in going on the bouncy waterslide, but not so much the sliding. Took some convincing to get him down from the top once he got up there. Not following the rules means only one trip on the bouncy and we headed home.
Good daddy that he is, Rick filled up 100+ water balloons for Brandon and his friend Jason and then let them throw them at him. Of course, he also gave some to Jacob, who loves popping them to get the water all over himself.
After the balloons were gone, Jacob resorted to the boring old hose.
Later that night we grilled some t-bones.

The full menu was t-bones, sweet corn, veggie platter, deviled eggs, strawberries, and honey cornbread, and for dessert, cinnamin apple pie, blueberry cheesecake and mini brownies. I figured even if it was just us, there was no reason I couldn't make what I wanted, so we have lots and lots of dessert leftover. No one was exactly complaining.
