July 4 - family fun down at the park on the 4th of July.

July 5 - Sigh. Foundation work again. This time it was adjusting the front piers and putting in 5 interior piers, which necessitated jackhammering through the floor. Fun times. Luckily they were able to schedule doing the bulk of the work on the two mornings a week that Jacob is in school, so it was a lot less stressful for all of us.

July 6 - Finishing up the foundation work. Rick joked that this is what our house would look like if we really let Brandon set off the cannons that he wants in the house. The holes are now patched over with concrete and we just need to wait a month or so to let the house settle some more and we can look at moving forward on the rest of the home improvement project. Hopefully.

July 7 - Who says all the good ones are gone? Not me. Still trying to get rid of all the dust caused by the foundation work. We decided that the little bucket and cheap mop we were trying to use just wasn't going to cut it so we went to Sam's Club for the big gun. When he saw that I was taking a picture, he laughed and said, "hey I used to live in a fraternity. I know my way around a mop."

July 8 - This is what Jacob spends his allowance on every week. Today was an emergency trip for colors, since Brandon said something to him that just set him off and he was sobbing and crying for nearly an hour. He loves to color (i.e. scribble) and this week has been very rainy again, so it gives him something to do.

July 9 - This boy loves to ride horses. Unfortunately, this boy does not understand "out of order" and was very sad that mom wouldn't let him "ride the horse!"

July 10 - Brandon is leaving for scout summer camp in a few weeks so Rick took him and a friend to the gun range for a little target practice. Brandon did pretty good. Mom sent a camera with, along with instructions to take pictures of Brandon shooting (check), Dad shooting (uh, no), and Brandon and Dad holding their guns (uh, no). So they had to suffer through posing for mom in the backyard.
