Ah, yes, that sound you heard was the sound of money being sucked from our wallets. County fair time. In our case, it's basically a carnival, since they boys aren't really interested in much else. Brandon was able to bring two friends this time (who are, incidentally, fraternal twins who are polar opposites) and I bit the bullet and let them walk around for a large part of the evening on their own. I'm getting better. Jacob is kind of stuck in limbo, too big for the little kid rides, but not quite capable of sitting right for the big rides. He tried pretty hard to get Rick to take him on the Dungeon Drop (where you go up the tower slowly, then drop down rapidly). Flat out sat at the entrance and only moved when Rick convinced him to go on the ferris wheel, instead. Brandon and one of the friends went on several rides (the other one doesn't like rides). No bull riding this year, but we did manage to bring home a goldfish.
