These Pictures Lie

He looks happy, right? Yeah. It was short lived. Last week Jacob had the entire week off of summer school for the break between sessions. We tried going to the park. He refused to have anything to do with the park because we didn't bring a picnic. Parks are supposed to involve at least a snack, MOM. We tried again the next day, with a breakfast picnic, only to be caught in a downpour, so we had our picnic in the car, waiting for Half Price Books to open. During that 15 minutes, we got to watch the waves roll in, in the parking lot. Yes, waves. It was quite the downpour. And the HPB didn't even have any Barney videos or Clifford Books. The absolute nerve of them!

Playing outside was ok, except that Mom (the evil wench) has taken away pull-ups. Completely. He has the peeing part down, and wears boxers 85% of the time, so why not take the next step? And she won't let him sneak behind the garage to do his thing in private. Which meant that Jacob didn't poop for 5 days. (The grand finale? Jacob jumping up and down in the living room and a large "surprise" gracing my hallway when he took off running to the bathroom. Have I mentioned that I use my shampooer A LOT?)

There was another trip to Chuck E. Cheese. Brandon was a bit miffed at Jacob, though. Last time we went Jacob had really good luck/aim at one of the games and won Brandon a lot of tickets. This time, no interest in it. Jacob asks to go to Chuck E. Cheese everytime we leave the house. Thank goodness for coupons in the Sunday paper. We even resorted to making tiedye tshirts. He did like that.

We survived the week. Unfortunately, a window, several dvds, a box of muffin mix, a bottle of dish soap, a half a case of water, several bottles of Gatorade, a package of markers and mom's patience can't say the same thing.
