Ten

Just a quiet little family dinner in the backyard. Dad grilled steaks to go with out beans, watermelon and veggies, followed by opening his little presents, mostly art supplies. We also got him a chair for his bedroom. The cake, though, was his main present. I know, that sounds weird; I had planned to just make plain cupcakes for him, but everytime we go to Target, he has to visit the bakery (we have SuperTargets) and watch the baker lady decorate a cake, then he has to flip through the cake books to the baby farm animals cake. Every time we go. The bakery lady loves Jacob. See the little chick in the nest cupcake next to the big cake? Bakery lady made that especially for Jacob, a gift for him on his birthday. She's really nice and loves that Jacob comes and visits her. He had that kind of affect on people. Brandon had a few friends over for cake before disappearing to play video games (he and all his friends are big into Super Smash Bros. Brawl and My Sims right now), and Jacob and I stayed outside and played until bedtime. We'll do a party of sorts when we are in Wyoming, so he'll get to sing Happy Birthday to himself twice.
