4th of July parade

This was my first time shooting something other than the moon in full manual. It was a little nerve wracking.

Waiting for the parade to reach us:

And it begins:

A selection of floats/vehicles/groups:

Since Rick was riding by himself (Brandon wasn't interested and it's too close behind the loud firetrucks for Jacob), he was given a choice of a Mustang, a Corvette and the Prowler. He had sent me a pic ahead of time, so I knew what he was driving, but it still had me almost in tears. One of the last times his Dad came to Houston, we were filling up gas and there was a guy there with a purple Prowler there that Bill went and talked to. Bill really loved the Prowler, even though everyone told him it was a hard drive (which Rick confirmed).

My friend Terri, yelling to her son, "Joe! Miss Heather is over on the other side! Go to the other side!"
The balloon kept attacking him, so I only got one cute pic as they went by.

Our neighbor, who is the President of the Garden Club:
We have no idea who the girl pirate was, but she trash talked Brandon pretty hard, like psycho chick bad. Brandon looked at me and mouthed, "What the f^%$?"

Moo :)  After the parade we decided Chick fil A for lunch was a pretty good idea.
